Chez Moin, de Loin

Series

[ngg src=”galleries” ids=”26″ display=”basic_slideshow”]Chez Moi, De Loin, roughly translated to “my place, distantly” is a collection of memorabilia exploring the dark history of my Grandparents house in the Calvados department in Normandy – which was used as an infirmary by the Nazi’s during the German Occupation of northern France in the Second World War. There are layers upon layers of patterned wallpaper, providing a backdrop for the proudly placed objects in the rooms and there is an illusion of the home. With the changing shadows, simultaneously concealing and revealing, I find evidence of a past almost lost and unrelated to the present.
