For My Restless Friends
Selection from the Series
[ngg src=”galleries” ids=”28″ display=”basic_slideshow”]My project started when I met Ricasso, a homeless artist who has been parading the streets of Notting Hill for over 25 years. He introduced me to the area and explained how it has changed during his time there. In the past, Notting Hill was a counter-cultural hub for all manner of artists, but now gentrification seems to be systematically marginalising people on a lower income. The pictures speak about the journey through which I discovered the unconventional and nonconformist lives of a group of people who give Notting Hill it’s unique spirit. Spending time with them opened my eyes to a different way of life and has developed a rare and beautiful friendship.
