Sustainability Season

In 1987 the UN defined Sustainability as ‘meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs’.

Over a year, we will be releasing one interview a month as part of our ‘Sustainability Season’. These interviews will allow us to delve deeper, to gain an insight into the projects we featured in Issue 13 and the photographers who created them. We will also be featuring a number of great projects that we simply didn’t have space to feature in print.

Through these interviews we will be looking at sustainability across a broad spectrum from environmental to finanical – each has a vital role to play in securing a positive future.

We are extremely pleased that MPB is sponsoring the whole season of content. MPB is our longest-standing supporter, placing adverts in each edition of Loupe since Issue Five! without their continued support, we would not have been able to produce so many editions of the magazine.

With their own commitment to sustainability they are the perfect sponsor for our Sustainability Season of interview and we couldn’t be happier to have them on board.

A Word from Our Sponsor

MPB are delighted to support issue 13 of Loupe Magazine. Supporting visual storytellers at all stages of their creative journey is one of the principles we were built on, and so it is a delight to support a staple of independent publishing, Loupe Magazine.

An issue focusing of sustainability is of particular significance. The core principles of circularity are keeping products and materials in use, eliminating waste and pollution, using renewable energy and regenerating natural systems. A truly circular approach to making and using products, combined with renewable energy, is key to halting the climate crisis and ensuring healthy air, water and soils for future generations.

Our business model—buying, selling and trading used kit—is 100% circular. And, through our choice of packaging, furniture and equipment, we are applying circular principles to our operations.

We send zero in-bound or operational waste to landfill. Our packaging is plastic free, uses only sustainably-sourced card and paper, and is simple to reuse or recycle. We aim to buy or lease only essential equipment and furniture, keep items in good condition and donate or trade them if no longer needed.

Our Sustainability Season will feature interviews with the following:

Karoliina Kase – To All The Bobbies Out There

Eric T.Kunsman – Felicific Calculus

Phillipa Klaiber – Vorest
